The court of Faridabad’s Additional Sessions Judge Purushottam Kumar on Tuesday sentenced two convicts of gang rape, of a Tanzanian woman, to 20 years of imprisonment each and a fine of Rs 2 lakh.

The victim was lured to a party and sexually abused.

According to the police, the case was registered at the Women’s Police Station, NIT, Faridabad, on November 22 in 2020. The victim, who lives near the Chhatarpur Temple in Delhi, stated in her complaint that she was from Tanzania and had been living in Delhi for a long time.

The woman was friends with an accused Jaan, a resident of Sector 49, Faridabad. She had alleged that on November 20 in 2020, Jaan invited her to his house on the pretext of hosting a party. Jaan’s friend, Aman, a resident of Prahladpur, Delhi, was already there. After the party, both the accused took her to a room and raped her.

The woman reported the matter to the police. The police registered a case and arrested both the accused. The case had been pending in court since then.
