When Rinku, the manager, intervened, Puneet allegedly fired at him with an unlicensed weapon. Rinku sustained an injury to his arm but was discharged after receiving medical treatment.

The police have registered a case of attempted murder and booked the accused under the Arms Act. Both were reportedly in an inebriated state at the time of the incident.

Puneet, a law graduate, has a criminal record and has previously been accused in cases of cheating and threatening in Ghaziabad and Faridabad. He was reportedly involved in the local bidi (cigarette) trade. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
