The weekly fitness initiative, launched in December 2024, has so far reached more than seven lakh people at over 40,000 locations nationwide.
Before flagging off the ride, Mandaviya said, “Cycling keeps one fit, while also being Pollution ka Solution. Further, cycling connects us to the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” He noted that panchayat representatives from across the country had joined the movement, carrying the message of fitness to their communities.
The Delhi edition featured panchayat sarpanches Jitender (Pali Gaon, Haryana), Pardeep Kumar (Khaleta Gaon, Haryana) and Kishan Kumar (Keria Gaon, Haryana), alongside actors Rishi Bhutani and Naresh Gosain. The programme also included yoga, Zumba, rope skipping, badminton and interactive games for children.
Arjuna Award-winning rifle shooter Sanjeev Rajput, attending as a special guest, said, “Cycling is the best option for those who cannot run because of cervical issues. Cycling also builds a strong mind–body connection. The energy today is truly contagious; it makes me want to join every Sunday.”
Organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India and other partners, the event takes place simultaneously in all state and UT capitals, SAI Regional Centres and designated locations every week, promoting both physical fitness and eco-friendly transport.
