Saxena said this while praising the Delhi Development Authority for constructing the airport drain, which kept the Indira Gandhi International Airport free from waterlogging despite a recent downpour.

Right after taking over as L-G, Saxena prioritised the task of constructing the airport drain from IGI Airport to the Public Works Department trunk drain number two, on the southern side of the airport, Raj Niwas officials said.

“During a recent review meeting, it was reported that the drain operated at its maximum capacity of 80 cumec on June 28, successfully channelling water away from the airport and neighbouring areas, thus preventing waterlogging for the first time in several years,” the official added.
