The chaotic traffic on Gurugram’s busy roads highlights the city’s struggle with two major issues — reckless driving and overloading. Motorcycle and scooter riders frequently flout traffic rules with impunity. Autorickshaws are generally packed to the brim with commuters, far exceeding their authorised capacity, which is dangerous and could lead to serious accidents. Need to ensure basic amenities for poor
A large number of destitute persons residing in Faridabad are struggling for basic amenities like food, shelter and clothing. They are dependent on alms or are forced to collect waste. Besides, homeless people are susceptible to all criminal and anti-social activities. Thus, the state government as well as NGOs should come forward to help the poor and set up facilities like shelter homes for them. Satish Chopra, Faridabad
