WRONG-SIDE driving in the city has been on the rise, posing a significant risk of accidents and creating traffic chaos. This issue has likely increased due to inadequate and ineffective measures taken by the traffic police. Although challans are issued sporadically, enforcement is insufficient, allowing violations to become more widespread. Offenders often engage in arguments when confronted with driving in the wrong direction. The police need to step up enforcement and ensure safe and orderly traffic flow by offering alternative routes. Narender Sirohi, Faridabad

Smog causing breathing issues

The thick smog blanketing the area has wreaked havoc, especially on the elderly and children, making breathing difficult. Hospital OPD visits have surged dramatically. Most people, often too poor to afford air purifiers, masks and inhalers, are left vulnerable. Stubble burning by farmers continues, worsening the situation to dangerous levels. The administration, meanwhile, appears uninterested in addressing this urgent crisis. Ramesh Gupta, Gurugram
