Her decomposed body was retrieved from under the bed in a rented room at Dundahera village.
The victim is suspected to have been strangled by her live-in partner who is missing. An FIR was registered at Udyog Vihar police station.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Angoori, had been living in a live-in relationship with a young man named Anuj for about a year-and-a-half. She had come to live with him at Dundahera just 20 days ago. It is alleged that Anuj murdered the woman a week ago and fled after locking the house from outside.
According to the police, Angoori’s body had decomposed significantly. The police called a Forensic Science Laboratory team to the scene. The body was then sent to mortuary for postmortem.
According to locals, Angoori went to work at 9 am and returned at 7 pm, and she was last seen on Friday. A foul smell began emanating from the woman’s home on Wednesday, and the police were informed.
“An FIR has been registered and we are investigating the matter,” a senior police officer said.
