Yadav said: “False narrative created by the corrupt Kejriwal Government of the Aam Aadmi Party about the so-called ‘Delhi Model of Education’, which Delhi Congress has been exposing for the past 11 years, has been laid bare by a survey of the Directorate of Education. The survey revealed that most government schools lack basic amenities such as electricity and water, with over 100 schools depending on water tankers and many functioning without proper power connections.”
He added, “It is also an indictment of the BJP Government headed by Rekha Gupta that it has failed to improve the pathetic state of government schools in the past seven months, despite coming to power with tall promises in its Delhi Assembly manifesto, including free education ‘from KG to PG’ for needy students in government institutions.”
Recalling initiatives taken during Congress rule, Yadav said, “When Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years, government schools were developed into model educational hubs where children from ordinary families could receive quality education at near par with some private schools. This gave them the opportunity to dream big and succeed. Today, however, the crumbling infrastructure of government schools, absence of electricity and water, shortage of principals, vice-principals, and subject teachers, and high dropout rates have exposed the tall claims of the so-called ‘Delhi Model of Education.’”
He said: “The government has been more concerned with constructing a new Secretariat building, renovating ministers’ and the CM’s bungalows, and raising power tariffs to benefit discoms, while neglecting the real issues affecting ordinary citizens.”
Highlighting the plight of the poor, Yadav said, “The demolition of several JJ clusters has pushed thousands out of Delhi. These families endured harsh living conditions in the hope of providing their children with better education in government schools. However, with the BJP Government paying little attention to the deplorable state of these schools, its anti-poor policies stand fully exposed.”
