The police arrested 25-year-old Kapil for possessing illicit firearms here last night. According to Sub-Inspector Hanish Khan, incharge of detective staff cell, Palwal, the accused, a resident of Ganniki village, was nabbed from the Kithwari-Ghori link road on the basis of a tip-off. Khan said the accused had two countrymade pistols but could not produce any licence or documents for these, leading to his arrest.

Khan said a case under the Arms Act was registered against Kapil, and the police were probing the matter to find the source of these weapons and the motive for the possession of the arms. The accused was remanded to judicial custody after initial interrogation.
