A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified people in the wee hours of Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Makbul Akram, who hailed from West Champaran in Bihar.

Preliminary investigations revealed that pickpockets tried to rob Akram while he was returning home from work in a nearby factory. When he resisted, the accused stabbed him and fled the spot.

Around 4:35 am, a patrolling vehicle found a man lying unconscious on the road with a head injury near the Badarpur bus stand on the Mathura road, an official said.

After receiving information, the Badarpur SHO and other staff members reached the spot. They found a youth lying unconscious on the roadside. The injured person was shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where the attending medical officer declared him dead on arrival.

An official said a case under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS had been registered and efforts were being made to identify and arrest the accused.
