The internet has found a new musical obsession: FA9LA, the high-voltage track that defines Akshaye Khanna’s menacing character Rehman Dakait in the newly released film Dhurandhar.

Since the movie hit theatres on December 5, audiences have been captivated by how the song not only elevates Akshaye’s on-screen presence but also emerges as one of the film’s standout elements.

FA9LA, a Bahraini track written and performed by Flipperachi and Daffy, with music by DJ Outlaw, drops at a pivotal moment in the narrative.

Its pulsating Khaleeji hip-hop beats amplify the intensity of Khanna’s entry, instantly cementing Rehman Dakait as a ruthless and electrifying force in the film. Interestingly, the word “FA9LA” means “fun time” or “party” in the Bahraini dialect—an ironic twist given the character’s cold-blooded brutality. For Rehman, the thrill of violence is his idea of fun.

The introduction sequence features Khanna in a sleek black outfit and sunglasses, walking with effortless swagger across a rugged, desert-like landscape reminiscent of Karachi or Balochistan.

The contrast between the urban, thuggish style and the barren setting heightens the character’s impact, making the visual and musical combination unforgettable.

As with every viral cinematic moment, social media has exploded with edits and reels inspired by the FA9LA entry. Many viewers have drawn comparisons to Bobby Deol’s iconic ‘Jamal Kudu’ entry in Animal, noting that FA9LA serves the same purpose—it shapes the aura of a character who thrives on chaos, charm, and danger.

Amid this growing buzz, fans are calling Dhurandhar “Akshaye Khanna’s show,” praising his portrayal of Rehman Dakait as one of the film’s strongest performances. The strategic use of music, they say, sets the tone for one of the most memorable villain introductions in recent years.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, Dhurandhar also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi. The film has already made waves at the box office, earning Rs 160.15 crore worldwide and Rs 106.50 crore in India (NBOC) during its opening weekend.
