Trinamool Congress MP and actress Nusrat Jahan gave birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata on August 26. Nusrat, who was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday evening, gave birth around 12.20 pm as per a hospital source. Both the mother and the baby are doing fine.

Reportedly Nusrat’s actor-friend Yash Dasgupta was by her side at the hospital. Expressing joy over the child’s birth, Nusrat’s estranged husband Nikhil Jain in a statement said, “There might be differences between us, but I am wishing the newborn and his mother all the best. I wish the baby boy has a bright future.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
