Daisy Shah's photo with Khaled Hosseini’s novel draws flak

Daisy Shah landed in a controversy after striking a pose with Khaled Hosseini’s novel A Thousand Splendid Suns. The picture shared by the actress was criticised by social media users as she was seen smiling in it. “Just smile, because it works,” read the caption of the picture. As soon as she posted the photo, the actress began to receive flak since the book tells the story of a girl who’s suffers from the stigma around her birth as an illegitimate child and even faces abuse in the marriage!

Soon after posting the picture, Daisy tweeted, “You don’t know me or my life…” However, the actress deleted the tweet later!

Eventually, as the backlash continued, she apologised and withdrew the photo.
