Star Plus’ show Pandya Store, which has a huge ensemble cast, highlights our traditional family values. Simran Budharup, who plays the female lead in the show, has managed to shine despite working alongside several other actors. The actress, who has acted in a number of shows, speaks about how an actor should be prudent about getting typecast.

She says, “Yes, typecast is a real thing. You tend to get similar characters after you portray one; for example if you play a negative role,only negative roles come your way. But an actor should be smart enough to break the chain.”

She adds, “I always like to play characters that aren’t monotonous. My character should have a lot of layers, just like Rishita does. She is good at times and she can get very rude too. I love playing such characters.”
