Rajvir Jawanda was refused treatment by private hospital after accident? Conflicting reports over mishap in Pinjore, not in Baddi, emerge

Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda, who passed away on October 8, at the age of 35, did not meet with a road accident in Himachal Pradesh as initially reported.

A new investigation has revealed that the bike accident allegedly occurred in Pinjore, Haryana, and not in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.

The accident took place on September 27, while Jawanda was reportedly on his way to Shimla. He suffered serious injuries and was allegedly denied initial treatment by a private hospital in Pinjore, a delay that may have cost him his life.

Hospital 'refused' treatment

According to Lawyers for Human Rights International (LFHRI), a fact-finding report based on local investigation and official police records (Daily Diary Report - DDR from Pinjore police station) revealed that Shourie Hospital, Pinjore, refused to provide emergency first aid to the injured singer.

Following this, Jawanda was taken to:

A government hospital in Panchkula;

A private hospital in Panchkula; and

Fortis Hospital Mohali, where he was placed on ventilator for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries.

Legal action planned

Advocate Navkiran Singh, General Secretary of LFHRI, along with a journalist, visited the accident site and compiled a detailed spot report, as reported by News 18.

The organisation now plans to approach the high court, alleging medical negligence which, they believe, played a direct role in the singer's death.

In addition to seeking justice in Jawanda’s case, the petition would raise broader concerns, including:

The responsibility of doctors and hospitals to provide emergency treatment;

The danger posed by stray cattle on public roads;

The lack of adequate medical infrastructure and emergency response mechanisms.

Stray cattle and road safety 

A related petition has already been filed in the Himachal Pradesh High Court, pointing out that:

The government collects millions of rupees in "cow cess" for stray cattle management. Despite this, stray animals continue to roam the roads, leading to fatal accidents.

The petition accuses the government of failing to ensure road safety, despite financial resources allocated for the purpose.

Rajvir Jawanda was a popular Punjabi singer and actor, known for his songs and roles in Punjabi films. His death has sparked outrage and questions over health care ethics, road safety and hospital responsibilities.
