Dream Girl Hema Malini makes pongal to mark the festival

Here’s something straight from Bollywood actress Hema Malini’s kitchen—a glimpse of pongal made by the Dream Girl herself.

On the occasion of Lohri, also called Pongal and Sankranti, Hema Malini made sure to celebrate the festival with its much-loved traditional food. She shared a picture of herself where she can been seen stirring a brass vessel in her kitchen. She captioned it, “Celebrated Pongal with the family today. Here I am making the Pongal at home.” Charming as ever, the veretan actress is dressed in a baby pink saree.

Much like her mother, daughter Esha Deol too believes in valuing traditions. She also made pongal at home and performed puja. The actress shared a heartening video where she also explained the meaning of the occasion for her family.

Esha wrote, “As the country celebrates the harvest festivals of Sakranti, Pongal, Bihu and Uttarayan. I always make pongal at home for my family (a tradition I learnt from my grandmother) sweetpongalis a favourite with my kids and we all love screaming together “polgalo pongal” as it’s being cooked.
