Family steals spotlight at Diljit Dosanjh’s Sydney concert, recreates his Met Gala look

At Diljit Dosanjh’s packed concert in Sydney on Sunday, one family turned heads and won hearts by arriving dressed exactly like the Punjabi singer’s viral Met Gala look, complete with the turban and cape.

The family drew the singer’s attention mid-show when their coordinated outfits caught his eye. Clearly delighted, Diljit invited them on stage, and together they danced. Viral videos from the concert show the singer applauding the family’s effort.

In their tribute, the family recreated the outfit that Dosanjh wore at the Met Gala 2025, where he made history as the first Punjabi artist to walk the blue carpet in traditional attire. His regal white ensemble was an apparent homage to the Maharaja of Patiala and was designed by American-Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung.

The Sydney concert was part of Dosanjh’s ongoing ‘AURA’ tour, which brought down under, nearly selling out Parramatta’s 25,000-seat Western Sydney stadium in Australia.
