For Sriti Jha, the push came from home

Sriti says her sister convinced her to take up acting as a career

Hailing from Begusarai, Sriti Jha, who is seen as Pragya in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya, was a studious and ambitious girl, but she never thought she would be an actress.

Though she acted in several dramas and skits during her school days, coming to Mumbai and being a star was never on her mind. In fact, it was her sister Meenakshi who convinced her to take up acting. Her elder sibling also made her parents understand and told Sriti to try her luck in showbiz.

Talking about the same, Sriti says, “Meenakshi really fought my battles. I was actually really shy to even accept that I could be an actress and never thought of it as a career option. None of us knew anything about showbiz. But my sister, I don’t know how she believed in me, convinced us all. In fact, she had never seen me act or on stage. Now I feel that if she had not insisted so much and convinced me, I wouldn’t be in Mumbai and be your Pragya.”
