New Year resolutions are a wonderful convention, offering us a chance to reset and refocus. While most resolutions revolve around being good and doing good, the bridge between taking a pledge and making it real is action. The focus on actionable steps is what make a resolution come true!
Celebs tell us about their resolutions for 2025 and how to intend to pursue it.
Gratitude!
I am putting it all to prep for my next role in the New Year. I am going to grow a beard. My New Year resolution for 2024 was to give my best in everything and be content with what came my way. This served me very well, and I will carry on with it in 2025 too, trying to do better in every walk of life, while remaining grateful for every success. – Kartar Cheema, actor
A shot at fusion
My New Year resolution for 2025 is to expand my creative boundaries. Experiment with new dance styles or fusion choreography to challenge myself. I am looking forward to partner with musicians, filmmakers, or other dancers to create unique and impactful performances. - Gagan Kaur, choreographer
On a song
My New Year resolution for 2024 was to get back in shape. Though I’m binging now during the holiday season, for most of the year I have eaten healthy and been consistent with workouts and happy to have met my goal. In 2025, my resolution is to release more songs! Though I perform live frequently, I have been doing one or two song releases per year. I received lots of love for my latest release Sajna Badal Gaya and that’s motivated me to put more of my music out there. Given that I sing different genres of music, I want to bring out the best of each genre and hence am aiming for 8-10 good releases in 2025. - Jashan Bhumkar, singer, entrepreneur
Positive impact
My focus for 2025 is to continue evolving, not just as an actor, but as an individual while staying committed to self-improvement every single day. In 2025, my goal is to expand my horizons and achieve even greater milestones. Reflecting on 2024, I accomplished a variety of things and aim to carry the same positivity into the New Year. - Simaran Kaur, actress
Bring on the challenges
I visit the temple in my hometown with family on January 1 every year, seeking blessings for the New Year. My resolution for 2025 is to take on more challenging roles as an actor and explore different genres. I plan to celebrate New Year's Eve with close friends and family, reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the new one. - Aadesh Chaudhary, actor
Balancing it out
For 2025, I want to take out more time for travel while balancing it out with work. Life is too short to keep postponing things you love to do. - Rinku Ghosh, actress
Healthy body, happy mind
I believe in keeping resolutions but I need somebody to motivate me to achieve them. For the coming year, my resolution will be to stay fit and healthy and take care of my mental health and stay optimistic. I’m hoping that I meet the goal. - Shivangi Verma, actress
In focus
- A healthy body is the foundation of a good life. This year, I am committing to eating wholesome, nourishing foods and incorporating regular exercise into my routine. My goal is consistency, not perfection.
- Our minds often bear the brunt of stress, overwork, and negativity. This year, I resolve to be mindful of what I feed my mind. I will read more books, engage in stimulating conversations, and spend less time scrolling through social media.
- This year, I want to do things that truly satisfy my soul. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones, helping someone in need, immersing myself in nature, or pursuing a creative hobby, I aim to nourish my spirit.
- To make all of this actionable, I will break my resolutions into small, manageable goals. I’ll start by setting weekly or monthly targets, tracking my progress, and celebrating small victories along the way. Most importantly, I will allow myself grace when I falter—because self-compassion is essential for sustained growth.
- My New Year resolutions are not just about being good or doing good — they are about being intentional, consistent, and kind to myself. Here’s to a New Year filled with action, growth, and purpose!
