How has been your journey so far?
The journey has its own ups and downs. One thing I was always sure of was my ability. There was a time in my career when nothing was going right, but I believed in myself and now I am living my dream.
Who is your godfather in the industry?
I feel the time currently we live in; we don’t need a godfather. I don’t have a godfather but Anurag Kashyap gave me the first break and I am extremely fond of him. I really look up to him.
Afsos deals with depression. What’s your take from the series?
All I would like say is please take professional help. And that does not mean only medication. Right discussions can guide you in a certain direction. It is important for us to have a couple of friends with whom we can share everything.
You have worked in multiple mediums—web, theatre and films. What’s your opinion about the OTT platform?
It has created a lot of opportunities. You can make a living on your own through these platforms. But my aim was to work in films and then explore other mediums. I think now I want to explore both the mediums.
Tell us about your next projects.
My next one is a film, titled Fallen, by Reema Kagti for Amazon. It has actors like Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Verma and Sohum Shah. It’s a crime thriller around a bunch of cops from interior Rajasthan. I finally fulfilled my childhood fantasy of playing an onscreen cop. There is also one bilingual film, Rudraprayag by Rishabh Shetty.
