Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has partnered with Netflix once again for a new project, O Saathi Re, which he describes as "a modern story with a vintage heart." This follows the success of his previous Netflix film, Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.

The series features Aditi Rao Hydari, Avinash Tiwary, and Arjun Rampal in key roles. Imtiaz Ali, serving as creator, writer, and showrunner, will also be an executive producer alongside Mohit Choudhary. His brother, Arif Ali, known for directing 'She', will helm the project, with Imtiaz and Amogh Kanaskar handling the writing.

“‘O Saathi Re’ surprised me at every turn of its development. It is a modern story with a vintage heart, an enchanted fairy tale set in the fiasco of metropolitan life,” Imtiaz said, reports Variety.

The production, backed by Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment, is set to begin by the end of the month. The series aims to explore "the vintage feeling of love in contemporary times."

Tanya Bami, series head at Netflix India, expressed excitement for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to bring a story that delves into love, relationships, and human dilemmas — narrated in Imtiaz’s signature, deeply authentic style, an almost haunting quality to these stories.”

The project also marks the return of the lead cast to Netflix, with Aditi Rao Hydari following Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Avinash Tiwary after Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, and Arjun Rampal post Rana Naidu Season 2.
