Income Tax Department conducts raids at Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap’s residence amongst others

The Income Tax Department on Wednesday carried out raids at the properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actress Taapsee Pannu, among others. A search was also carried out at the properties of Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena. Reportedly, these raids were conducted in connection with the production company, Phantom Films, which was established by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl in 2011, but eventually was dissolved in 2018.

As many as 20 locations in Mumbai and Pune were searched in same regards, including premises linked to a talent management agency which was employed by Phantom Films. Talking about Anurag and Taapsee, both of them are outspoken and have lent their voice to various causes, including the ongoing farmer protests. Recently, Taapsee had criticised the show of solidarity by celebrities towards the government in response to pop star Rihanna’s post drawing attention to the farmers’ agitation.
