Jaadugar is an emotion for Shayank Shukla

How did acting happen; and how has been the journey so far?

It was not a random decision for me as it happened with a lot of silent and loud thoughts.The journey has been full of new experiences and learning.

How was your working experience in Jaadugar?

More than an experience, Jaadugar is an emotion for me because as an artiste we tend to give a piece of ourself to our art and that piece is our most valued creation.

How did you prepare for your role?

So, the challenge here was to deliver the truth of Hemu in which there were two most important elements. One was gaining 10kg more and learning to be a goalkeeper. On the top of it I had no connect with football. So, my day used to start with rigorous football practice and then I had to head back home to endless consumption of calories.

How was your working experience with Rashmika Mandanna and Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye?

Working with Amitabh sir was a blessing for me. I feel extremely lucky. Rashmika is a versatile actor and has a very comfortable energy to work around. She creates an equilibrium for her co-actors to let them play with their character.

Any one favourite moment from the sets of Goodbye?

It was the last day of my shoot when I went up to Amitabh sir and I bent down to touch his feet. He raised his hand to shower his blessings on me. I felt a warm wave of energy at that moment and I can never put that experience in words.

Tell us something about your upcoming web series, Dhan-aabad?

From the cinematic point of view this series is a well written and well executed story about the deep dark side of our existence. I can’t give away much about it until it is officially announced.

What would you tell us about the web space?

Web space is a door of infinite opportunity for artistes from the entertainment industry. It has showcased new talent in abundance.

Who is your inspiration in terms of acting?

Taking one name won’t be justified as I have crossed paths with many actors, from aspiring actors to the ones who have already marked their presence in the industry, everyone has taught me something new and something interesting.

Any dream director you want to work with?

I have not one but two dream directors, Anurag Kashyap and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal is to keep the audience fulfilled and happy with my performance. I always want to portray every character with honestly and versatility.
