Actress Akanksha Juneja, who plays Kanak in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, talks about the show, her role & more

How did you bag the show?

The makers called me for an online audition, then for a mock shoot and it was done! I chose the script because I loved the character I was to essay.

What is your role in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2?

I am playing the character of Kanak, who is the mastermind behind whatever happens in the show. I loved the character, as it gave me a chance to explore many shades and variations. She is a strong, fashionable, selfish and money-minded. She always thinks about herself and her benefit.I don’t relate to my character, as I am a very different person in real life. So it’s a challenge to play such a character on screen.

How is it working with the cast?

I am having a gala time with the cast of the show, as everyone is so cooperative and fun-loving. I also feel the pressure as the first season was a big hit. Therefore, I am putting in all my efforts and hard work to do justice to the character.

What preparations did you do for the show?

I had to change my body postures and gestures, as Kanak is a lady and Akanksha Juneja is a tomboy! So I had to work hard on it. It takes me at least one hour to get ready for the shoot with the costume and make-up.

How is the audience responding to your character?

I am getting mixed responses from the audience. Half the fans are appreciating my look and acting skills; the other half telling me how bad Kanak is!
