MTV fame and model Amit Sobti has signed a Punjabi film based on cricket. The film will be directed by Dinesh Sudarshan Soi.

Amit is playing the character of a boy who struggles to become a national-level cricketer. Amit has been getting extensive training for the same.

Talking about Amit, the director Dinesh mentioned, “When I first saw Amit, he was full of energy and saw the fire of doing something big in his eyes. He is extremely dedicated and a talented boy. We have started working together and it would be nice seeing him fulfilling his dream.”

Talking about the film, Amit said, “It is my debut film and I am extremely excited about the same. It will not be easy to portray a sportsman’s journey but I am lucky to get this opportunity. It will be one fine joyride for me.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
