Kanika Maheshwari to star in Sony TV’s upcoming show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye

Set in 1947 Lahore, pre-Partition India, Sony TV’s upcoming show Kyun Uthe Dil Chod Aaye narrates the story of three young girls – Amrit, Vashma and Radha. This story brings forth their dreams, hope, aspirations and love. Kanika Maheshwari has been recently roped in to play a pivotal role in this show.

She says, “I am coming back on screen after some time, so I am really happy. Talking about my character, she is a widow who is never happy with anything. It’s an all-out negative character. Even my look is very different from my previous shows. It’s a colourful role with no colours on me.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
