Shikha Malhotra honoured with Vagdhara Nav Ratna Samman

Shikha Malhotra has worked in several films such as Fan and Running Shaadi. Shikha is a qualified nursing officer and volunteered her services during the pandemic for seven months before getting the virus herself. During her time as a frontline warrior, the actress took care of many coronavirus patients. Recognising her services, she has been awarded with Vagdhara Nav Ratna Samman by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at a recent ceremony in Mumbai.

Expressing her joy, Shikha said, “I am very grateful to the Vagdhara Judicial Selection Committee, who has made me proud with this honour. Along with being an actress, I had a higher education in nursing. It was my privilege to do something for the country during the time of the global epidemic. I want to thank my parents and fans.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
