Acting has been my interest, or you can say my passion, since childhood. If I liked a movie, I watched it again and again till I memorised all the scenes. And then, I used to enact those scenes and dialogues in front of my family and friends.

How has been the struggle for you in the industry?

Struggle in any industry doesn’t end. It’s a matter of hard work and luck. One opportunity leads to another. Patience and persistence are needed.

When I got selected for the character of te first officer, I had little idea who I would be working with. But eventually, when I got the script and got to know about the star cast, I was overwhelmed. I shot for 15 straight days in Malta alongside Salman Khan, Sunil Grover and Satish Kaushik. I never wanted this shoot to get over as I got to learn a lot from them.

How did you get the role of Vaasu Tayagi in the show Tandav?

My profile was selected by the makers from one of the casting teams. Then they called me for an audition. That’s how I landed in Tandav.

What difference do you find between films and OTT?

OTT is definitely the future. But this doesn’t mean that cinema hall owners should pack shop and go. OTT content is different and you watch it at your home. Films on the big screen are meant for a larger-than-life experience.

What is your take on TV series?

TV is a mass medium. I am open to it as they say, never say never. Right now, my focus is OTT and films. As an actor I want to take up roles which will drive me to deliver my best.

Many feel that cuss words, extra-marital affairs, sex and drugs are common in web space. Your comment…

The shows containing such content are for adults, so there is discretion. All of these are things that we experience on a daily basis around us. I feel if we slowly expose our children to all these things in the correct manner, it would have a positive impact and ultimately, it would discourage people from choosing the wrong path.

What kind of work are you looking for now?

A role which the audience can take back. A small but meaningful role leaves a positive impact on the audience.

What do you have to say about Pride Month?

If I take pride in my identity and my choices, then others too will have the right to do so. Why differentiate? God has made us all, so are we not questioning him in a way?
