Supriya Pathak says the consummate cast of the web series helped her bring alive her character

Veteran actor Supriya Pathak is kicked about her upcoming show Tabbar – a family drama that falls in the thriller zone. Shot in Punjab, the web series had Supriya enjoy the warm hospitality of a Punjabi village.

“I had a lovely time while shooting for Tabbar. Directed by Ajit Pal Singh and created by Harman Wadala, it has a strong plot. So performing for it was immensely gratifying,” says Supriya.

Shot through the second wave of the pandemic, though the world was going through a harsh time, Supriya felt comfortable shooting in Punjab. “We were in a village in Punjab. It had warm, hospitable people. I did not feel any tension.”

The Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela actor feels that a consummate cast helps one to perform better. “If co-actors know their job, your response is equally elevated. If not, then you have to work extra hard. That way Tabbar came out to be a remarkable experience.”

With a family full of actors – husband Pankaj Kapur and both her children – Ruhaan Kapur and Sanah Kapur, one wonders what their dinner conversations are like. “While we talk about work, dinner time is family time and mostly we talk about others aspects of life,” says Supriya, adding, “I share a lot about characters that I am playing with my daughter and discuss the acting process with my son.” Apart from Tabbar, there are other projects – Rashmi Rocket, and another set of films and web shows in different stages of completion. We hear Supriya is a huge binge watcher. “I like the OTT, it’s a kind of personalised space,” says the actor who along with Indian shows, loves watching Turkish and Spanish shows.

Over four decades in the industry, Supriya feels it’s a whole new world. “Entertainment is now global, which wasn’t the case when I started. Today, expectations are huge,” says the actor.
