If 2021 got off to a slow start, by December everything gained momentum— right from performances, film releases to weddings! Not ready for things to get ‘normal’, celebs made the most — some going for small, intimate weddings while others for the grander stuff. Here’s a round up.
- Actress Ankita Lokhande married entrepreneur Vicky Jain on December 14 in Mumbai. While the bride wore an embellished gold lehenga, the groom was seen in a white and gold sherwani, both designed by Manish Malhotra.
- Actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan, on December 9. While they played the privacy card, allegedly making their guests go phone-free for three days, post the wedding they have been sharing delightful pictures on social media.
- Actors Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma fell in love on the sets of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. They got married on November 30 at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, followed by a reception for industry friends at Mumbai.
- Tum Bin II actor Aditya Seal and actor-model Anushka Ranjan went for a star-studded ceremony on November 21 in Mumbai. The bride opted for a lilac lehanga while the groom was seen in an ivory ensemble.
- Citylights’ co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha tied the knot at a luxury resort near Chandigarh on November 15. Rao shared a glimpse of their fun-filled ceremony wherein Rao asked his partner of 11 years to put some sindoor on him too as he filled her maang!
- Singer-composer Rahul Vaidya got married to actress Disha Parmar on July 16 in Mumbai.
- Uri director Aditya Dhar and actress Yami Gautam chose the latter’s home state Himachal Pradesh for their nuptials on June 4. Just 20 guests, it was a simple affair. The bride, ditching designers, wore her mother’s saree for her wedding along with a nose ring and the dupatta given by her grandmother for her special day.
- 7 Rings singer Ariana Grande tied the knot with real estate agent Dalton Gomez at their home in Montecito, California, during an intimate ceremony with just 20 people mid May.
- Actress Dia Mirza and businessman Vaibhav Rekhi got married on February 15. A woman priest, they did away with kanyadan and vidai rituals. The entire marriage was based on sustainable practices.
- The Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor Varun Dhawan married his childhood sweetheart Natasha Dalal at a private ceremony in Alibag on January 24 with just 50 of their friends and family members present. They wore off-white outfits designed by Natasha.
