Himachal Pradesh celebrates two important days – January 25 and April 15, both marking key milestones in its history.

January 25 – Statehood Day: This day celebrates when Himachal Pradesh became the 18th state of India in 1971. It got full statehood and its own government. This day represents its complete political recognition in the Indian Union.

April 15 – Himachal Day: This day is celebrated because in 1948, Himachal Pradesh was formed as a Chief Commissioner’s Province. It was created by merging 30 small princely states. This was the first step towards becoming a full-fledged state.

In short, April 15 marks the beginning of Himachal as a separate region, while January 25 celebrates it becoming a full state. Both days are important in understanding how Himachal Pradesh evolved over time.
