Leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan shake hands, sign deal at White House peace summit

The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan shook hands at a White House peace summit before signing an agreement aimed at ending decades of conflict. President Donald Trump was in the middle as Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan flanked him on either side on Friday. As the two extended their arms in front of Trump to shake hands, the US leader reached up and clasped his hands around theirs. The two countries in the South Caucasus signed agreements with each other and the US that will reopen key transportation routes while allowing the US to seize on Russia's declining influence in the region. The deal includes an agreement that will create a major transit corridor to be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, the White House said.

INS Sandhayak in Singapore on its National Day

Indian Naval Ship Sandhayak, the first indigenous survey vessel large (SVL) with state-of-the-art hydrography capability, entered Singapore on the occasion of its National Day on Saturday for a three-day visit. The visit to Changi Naval Base reaffirms India's commitment to regional maritime cooperation and marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral hydrographic ties between the Indian Navy and Singapore's maritime agencies, officials said. "The visit also demonstrates India's growing leadership in maritime diplomacy and regional hydrographic capacity building under the Indian Navy's hydrographic department framework," a spokesperson of the Indian Navy said. INS Sandhayak was commissioned in February 2024 in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Peruvian temple offers clues into 3,000-year-old human sacrifices

In a stark discovery on Peru's northern coast, archaeologists have unearthed the 3,000-year-old remains of 14 people believed to be victims of a ritual human sacrifice, offering a glimpse into the country's ancient past.
