The Kaithal police recently conducted the first round of a road safety quiz on the directions of the Inspector General of Police (Traffic and Highways). The competition was organised in all schools and colleges of the area, witnessing the participation of 1,26,821 students. The next round of the quiz will be held soon.

The quiz was conducted in four levels: level-1 for classes III-V; level-2 for classes VI to VIII, level-3 for classes IX-XII, and level-4 for college students. During the examination, DSP (Traffic) Sushil Prakash; the Traffic SHO, Inspector Naresh Kumar; and other officials visited various schools and colleges to inspect proceedings, and to spread awareness among students about the importance of following traffic rules.

Students securing first, second, and third positions at the block level will qualify for the district-level round, and the district-level rank holders will compete at the range-level competition, followed by the state-level round.

Winners at each stage will be awarded for their achievements. SP Upasana said the objective of organising such competitions was to educate and sensitise students about traffic rules from an early age, and to encourage them to follow these rules throughout their lives. “Lessons learned in childhood stay with us forever, and through such initiatives, we aim to instil a sense of road safety and responsibility among young learners,” she said.
