They were reportedly smuggling the cattle for slaughtering in Uttar Pradesh.
On the complaint of Vijay of Karnal, a case was registered against 10 persons under Section 11-D of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act at the Sadar police station on Tuesday.
According to the police, the suspects were smuggling the cattle in a cruel manner in five utility vehicles, which were intercepted at police check post set up in Kalanaur village on the border of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Those arrested have been identified as Mustak of Islam Nagar, Mahboob of Kalashpur village, Sonu of Bartha Kait village, Ashif of Habibgarh village, Ushman of Kureshiyan mohalla of Gangoh town, Mubarik of Majri Khurd village, Basar of Dabki village, Jahid of Nanota town, Azhar of Nanota town, (all these villages fall in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh) and Nafish of Banak village of Shamli district. However, they were later released on bail.
