Close to 6,000 polling personnel and 4,600 policemen will be deployed at 893 polling stations during the local body elections slated for December 27.

Dr Dalip Singh, State Election Commissioner, Haryana, said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the peaceful conduct of elections to the municipal corporations, municipal councils and municipal committees going to the polls on Sunday. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
