A group of villagers comprising Ranbir Suhag, the father of the deceased youth, and Zila Parishad member Jaidev Dagar met Rohtak Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Bijarniya and demanded the arrest of the accused.

“The SP informed us that a police team had been sent to locate and arrest the accused,” said Suhag.

He urged the SP to interrogate Sahil, a cousin of his son’s wife Divya, as he might be in touch with her.

Dagar said the accused had got ample time to destroy the evidence against them due to the delay in their arrest.

Ajay Suhag, alias Magan, of Dobh village in Rohtak district had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on of June 18.

Earlier that day, Magan had uploaded a message on social media, stating that he was going to end his life as his wife was demanding money for the promotion of her “paramour”, who was a police official.

“My wife Divya and her boyfriend Deepak have been demanding money for his promotion. I have given her Rs 3.5 lakh. Now, they are pressuring me to kill my father so that I get his property and give them more money. But I won’t do that. I’ll rather kill myself,” he said in the message.

Days after the alleged suicide, a video of Magan’s wife Divya dancing with her alleged paramour, Deepak, had gone viral on social media.
