13 injured in accident near Hisar

At least 13 persons were injured in a road accident that took place near the Dhandur flyover on the Hisar-Sirsa highway on the outskirts of Hisar on Monday morning.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a car collided with an auto-rickshaw that was coming from the wrong direction. All the injured were admitted to the Hisar Civil Hospital for treatment.

The car occupants, identified as Maya and her sister Sumitra, residents of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, sustained injuries in the crash. The auto-rickshaw passengers included Saroj, Asha, Gurpreet, Rakesh, a 3-month-old infant Anmol, Mahfil, Kelo Devi, and Simran – all residents of Pipalthala village near the Khanauri border. Besides, Rajkumar from Nachar Khera and two others named Aman from Doomarkha were also injured.

One of the injured, Kelo Devi, said they had visited Amarpura in Rajasthan for a religious visit with family and were returning home when the accident occurred.
