13 Gurugram PGs, hotels penalised for not keeping records

In an initiative to beef up security ahead of Republic Day, the Gurugram police have taken action against owners of 13 PGs, hotels and guest houses for not maintaining records of their tenants, servants, visitors and guests.

A special police team is conducting surveys at all such accommodations in the city to ensure that the guidelines as stated in the the Section 144 of the CrPC are complied with.

“It is our collective responsibility to ensure the safety of the city residents. It is mandatory for the owners of all establishments here to have detailed records of their guests,” a statement issued by the police read. “However, despite being reminded about the same time and again, the violations have continued unabated. We are now taking action against the defaulters,” it further read.

Flying drones, microlight aircrafts, gliders, hot air balloons and kites have also been prohibited till January 26 here.
