1,463 submit affidavits for Sirsa Dist Bar Assn polls

In the upcoming elections for the Sirsa District Bar Association, a total of 1,463 out of 2,530 registered lawyers have submitted affidavits. In these affidavits, the lawyers declared that they do not engage in any business other than practising law.

According to Bar Association Vice-President Advocate Lucky Duggal, all submitted affidavits would be verified by the Bar Council, after which the final voters' list would be released. The election will be held on February 28, from 9 am to 5pm. There will be a ban on carrying mobile phones and cameras in the polling centre, and only lawyers with voting rights and candidates' agents will be allowed entry.

Seven candidates are expected to contest for the president's position, with the current president, Aditya Rathore, planning to run again. Other possible candidates include Advocate Ganesh Sethi (who has previously served as president twice), Advocate Raghubir Khinda, Advocate JBL Garg and Advocate Gangaram Bajaj. For the vice-president's position, the names of Advocate Anuj Ganeriwala and Kewal Kamboj have been mentioned.

The counting of votes will begin with the secretary's position, followed by that of the vice-president and the result for the president's position will be announced last.
