15-yr-old girl stabbed to death for refusing marriage proposal

A 15-year-old girl was reportedly stabbed to death by a youngster at her house in Dabua Colony here on Saturday. The accused is at large.

According to the complaint lodged with the police in this regard, the victim, identified as Khusnuma, aka Billi, was attacked with a knife by one Pawan. It is reported that the victim was alone at her house when the incident occurred.

She was reportedly attacked by the accused after she refused his marriage proposal.

The accused, who had abducted the girl about nine months ago and wanted to marry her, was nabbed and sent to jail on charges of kidnapping in 2024. He had been out on bail since September 9 last year.

He had been following the girl, pressuring her to marry him. He had even threatened her after she repeatedly refused his marriage proposal, according to an area resident.

The accused reportedly fled the scene before neighbours arrived. The police have shifted the victim’s body to the Civil Hospital here for a post-mortem examination.
