155 vehicles checked at night campaign in Sonepat

The campaign was launched on the direction of Commissioner of Police-cum-Additional Director General of Police Mamta Singh.
The purpose of the campaign is to maintain law and order in the district, to curb suspicious activities and ensure that residents follow traffic rules. During campaign, police teams laid nakas and checked vehicles. A total of 155 vehicles were checked of which 18 were impounded by the police.
Prabeena P, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic, said the campaign would continue in the district in the coming days. She appealed to residents to follow traffic norms.
The police challaned 22 two-wheeler drivers for triple riding, three for using illegal blue beacon on vehicles, 31 for wrong side driving and using black film on cars, 30 for driving without seat belt, without helmet, without licence and registration certificate, while seven drivers were challaned for drunk driving during the campaign, the DCP said.
