The Nuh police arrested 18 cyber thugs under operation Aakraman. 19 mobile phones and 36 fake SIM cards and other items were recovered from their possession. The fraudsters used to cheat people online by adopting methods like purchasing goods online on the basis of fake documents, social media profiles, bank accounts, indulging in sextortion, cheating by pretending to be experts, through tempting ads for selling cashewnuts, etc.

According to the police, a one-day special campaign was launched on Tuesday to crack down on cyber thugs in Nuh district. FIRs were registered against the accused in different police stations including cyber police station, Nuh. Sonakshi Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nuh, said the police had received secret information about some people committing cybercrime across the country.

On the directions of Nuh SP Vijay Pratap, the police launched a special operation in Nuh district on Tuesday to nab cyber thugs. Different teams raided the hideouts of cyber thugs and arrested them.

The Nuh SP said such campaigns would continue in the future to catch cyber criminals. He also warned the fraudsters to stop committing cyber fraud otherwise the police would deal with them strictly.
