According to police, the two men, riding a scooter, snatched the phone from a victim on June 11 in the Rajendra Park area. Following the victim’s complaint, an FIR was lodged at the Rajendra Park police station and the investigation began.

Police officials said they arrested Suraj Kumar and Vipin Kumar, both residents of Samastipur, Bihar. The police added they gathered strong evidence and testimonies from witnesses, which were presented in court.

Based on this evidence, Judge Chauhan convicted the two men and sentenced them to five years in prison. They were also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 each.
