2 get 14-yr jail for supplying banned drugs

Additional Sessions Judge Yashwinder Paul Singh has awarded 14-year imprisonment to two persons arrested with banned drugs. He also imposed a fine on the convicts, Akshay Kumar Singhal and Sandeep Gupta, both residents of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to information, a team of the STF, Ambala, received a tip-off on September 15, 2020, that Singhal and Gupta supplied banned drugs and would go to Ambala from Saharanpur in a car.

The STF team installed barricades on the Ambala-Saharanpur highway in Yamunanagar and started checking vehicles. It seized 1,440 capsules, 2,975 injections and 1,500 small bottles of banned drugs from their car.

On the complaint of SI Dinesh Kumar (STF, Ambala), a case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Chhappar police station.
