2 held for snatching, robbery in Panipat

The police have recovered a motorcycle, three mobile phones and cash Rs 2,000 from the accused.
SI Sandeep Kumar, in-charge, CIA-1, said the accused had been identified as Ishan of Kot Mohalla in Sonepat, presently living in a rented accommodation at Kachha Camp, and Sourabh of Mahavir Colony, currently residing in Sector 6 here.
The accused were nabbed from Nizampur in Sector 18 following a tip-off.
During preliminary investigation, the accused revealed about a mobile phone snatching from a commuter on March 11 last year from near Sector 11. A case was registered on the complaint of Sushil, a resident of BBMB colony, at the Chandnibagh police station.
The accused also confessed to committing three more incidents of snatching and robbery. They revealed that they robbed a mobile phone from a labourer near Mehrana village on May 20. The duo also snatched a bag from a youth on Nimbri-Bapoli road on July 23. The bag contained a mobile phone, PAN card, ATM card and Rs 20,000 in cash. They robbed a bag containing cash and important documents from another person in Sector 25 on July 28. SI Sandeep said both the accused revealed that they were hooked to drugs and took to crime to fund their addiction.
The police produced the accused in a court on Sunday. The court sent them to judicial custody. Both have a criminal record. Three cases have been registered against Saurabh, while Ishan has two cases against him.
