The police have arrested two persons with 45 boxes of beer, allegedly being taken to Himachal Pradesh illegally.

The accused have been identified as Narayan Singh of Shimla and Surender Singh of Sirmaur of Himachal Pradesh. They were booked under the Excise Act and Section 420 of the IPC at Chhachhrauli police station on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said the Chhachhrauli police received a tip-off on Tuesday that some persons were carrying liquor loaded in a utility vehicle to Himachal Pradesh illegally. The police laid a naka near Balachaur village and nabbed the accused after they failed to produce the bill for the consignment. — TNS
