The villagers pulled out all five members from the debris after a lot of effort, but by then, Naira (7) and Umar (12) died on the spot. Salim, his wife and their five-year-old boy were seriously injured. The child has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

Salim's father Haji Iqbal said it had been raining for the past two days, due to which the house had become weak. An empty field behind the house was filled with rainwater, he added.

“The incident took place around 1 am, when the family was sleeping. The injured are being treated and are out of danger. The bodies of the deceased have been buried. A probe is underway,” said Inspector Subhash Chand, SHO of Pinangwa police station.
