The incident occurred when the family was asleep at their house in Adarsh Colony.
As the assailants barged into the house and opened fire at the girls, hitting one in the chest and the other in the hand, the family members raised the alarm.
The assailants fled the spot and the family informed the police. The injured were rushed to hospital. The victims have been identified as Tarannum and Jasmine, daughters of Naushad. Their grandfather, Noor Hasan, said he woke up hearing the gunshots and found the girls bleeding and lying on the floor. The police have registered a case.
