The Mining Department has issued show-cause notices to 12 stone crusher operators in Nuh district for various irregularities.

Meanwhile, the Nuh police have nabbed two more accused in connection with the DSP’s murder by the mining mafia. With this, 11 accused out of total 12 have been nabbed so far.

“Our Nuh team arrested Shokeen (alias Aandha) of Raipur village in Alwar district (Rajasthan) last night. He has been taken on two-day police remand. Another accused Kallu (alias Fajru) of Pachgaon village was nabbed from Tauru bus stand this evening. We are questioning the accused,” said Varun Singla, SP, Nuh.

The Mining Department conducted surprise checks at all stone crushers in the Nuh area today and found irregularities at 12 of them. The irregularities related to stock and presence of illegally mined raw material etc.

Nuh district mining officer Anil Atwal confirmed that show-cause notices had been issued to 12 stone crusher operators. “Further action will be taken against them after receiving their replies to the notices,” Atwal said.

The police authorities are, meanwhile, seeking a ban on the release of vehicles seized in connection with various cases of illegal mining in the area. A senior police officer said they were also conducting raids to arrest accused named in old cases of illegal mining.

With the arrest of two more accused in the DSP murder case, the police have nabbed 11 out of total 12 accused so far; the one remaining accused will also be arrested soon, authorities maintain
