The accused -- Chirag Bhatia of Lakshmi Garden and Karan Kumar of Shivpuri Colony -- allegedly helped the shooters in carrying out the crime. The police have so far arrested nine persons in the case.

On December 26, 2024, two persons -- Virender Rana of Golni village of Yamunanagar and Pankaj Malik of UP, died on the spot in a shooting incident at Kheri Lakkha Singh village of the district.  Arjun Rana of Unheri village of Yamunanagar was seriously injured in the shooting and succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital on December 29.

In a Facebook post, a profile, namely Noni Rana, showing its association with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Rana gang took responsibility for the murders. After a few days of this incident, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal terminated the services of nine employees posted at Kheri Lakkha Singh police post in connection with the case. One sub-inspector, four assistant sub-inspectors, two Home Guards and two special police officers were dismissed from the service.

All nine police personnel were reportedly present in the Kheri Lakkha Singh police post, when the accused opened fire on the victims.

Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesman, said the accused were produced before a court in Jagadhri on Friday and the court sent them in two-days police remand. He said on the SP's directions, four teams were working to solve the case. He added that the other accused would be arrested soon.
